A SaaS landing page is a page that's designed to showcase a web application that's delivered as a service over the internet. It's kind of like a storefront for the software, where potential customers can learn more about the product, usually the first things people see.
SaaS may sound like a complicated term, but it's actually quite easy to understand. It stands for Software as a Service. Before the SaaS era, people used to purchase software on CDs, paying a one-time fee and not receiving regular updates. Nowadays, with SaaS, you typically pay a monthly or yearly subscription and receive regular updates.
The goal of a SaaS landing page is to convince potential customers to sign up for the service by highlighting its unique features and benefits. It should be easy to navigate, visually appealing, and clearly communicate the value of the software in a way that's easy to understand.
Here’s a list of tips that you can apply when designing your landing page. Some of them may not be applicable to your situation.
Speed it up!
Your visitors are busy people, so make sure your page loads quickly to avoid frustrating them and driving them away.
Keep it clear and concise
Your users should be able to understand the purpose of your application quickly and easily. Use short sentences and clear language (avoid jargon, unless well know from your audience), and use visuals to support your message.
Make it easy to signup
Ensure your sign-up process is straightforward and user-friendly. Consider using a sticky header or repeating your CTA button throughout the page to make it easy for visitors to sign up.
Use social proof
PBuilding trust is crucial, especially for new users who aren't familiar with your brand. Consider displaying testimonials or customer logos to show your audience that your application is trustworthy.
Don't forget about current users
If your visitors are already connected to your application, don't make them search for the login button. Consider replacing the usual "Sign in" and "Sign up" buttons with a single "Go to application" button that redirects them. However, I don't recommend automatically redirecting users from your landing page to your application, as this can prevent them from seeing your content.
